Creating a Student-Centered GCISD

As a Trustee, every decision I make will first seek to answer one question: How will this improve our students’ learning or well-being? Success should not and will not look the same for every child. Our district should reflect this. I believe student-centered leadership means focusing on academic excellence, safety, and respect for our students and educators.

Approaching education that focuses on student engagement, active learning and tailored instruction fosters critical-thinking, problem-solving and allows our kids to thrive.

As a Trustee, I will ensure that our students have fair and equal access to opportunity within our schools. I will work to make sure our schools are built around our students – not out of date systems or over testing. It’s time we start putting our children at the center of every decision made in GCISD.
